Without thoughtful stewardship, the natural systems that support clean and clear water, healthy soil with minimal erosion, and resilient ecosystems, may not be able to keep pace with current pressures of rapid growth, decreased oversight and decreased knowledge reservoirs.
More Moorings = More Boats
Did you know that only nine lakes in the state of New Hampshire require permits to add moorings. Dan Hole Pond is NOT one of those lakes. That means anyone can add moorings ~ as many as desired and anywhere they’d like. More moorings means more boating activity.
There is an option to petition (25 signatures required) to get the Marine Patrol (who issues permits) to add Dan Hole Pond to their list of lakes requiring mooring permits. When the law was first passed in 1987 requiring permits, there were only six lakes requiring mooring permits.
